Festivus for the rest of us!

A massive fan festival is planned in October at Crap, Switzerland (see link). Plans have just got underway to hold the biggest international fan rally to date, the weekend of October 21st in Switzerland.  The Swiss branch of the fan club is preparing to host a gathering of world wide fans, to the first annual International bdFC festival. The original location for the festival was Fernando Poo, but seeing as it no longer exists, the planning committee decided to award the festival to Switzerland. Some of the guests rumored to be attending; are the Queen, Queen (what’s left of them), Prince, S. King, Geri, The Beaver, Jewel, Popeye, and Poopie.

billy is expected to appear and deliver  a speech on the fine line between Psychopaths (or Antisocial Personality Disorder if you like) and Sycophants. Stay tuned for more details as they become available. International fan attendance is going to be limited, so if you don’t want to miss this event get your tickets as soon as you can. Any fans wishing to receive a blessing or be married at this time by billy are urged to make application before July 21, 2011.

The Plant Lady

billy’s Plant has mysteriously disappeared from over his work space. In its place a cryptic note was left (image below). Not sure if this is the start of some kind of extortion attempt or that the Plant took ill and has been rushed to the Plant hospital. The signature "The Plant Lady" evokes memories of the "Log Lady" from Twin Peaks; let’s hope we don’t go down that path. billy is considering bringing in the hand writing analysts from before, to do a preliminary work up on the note. Initial contact has been made but no action will be taken until it becomes clearer just what the intention of "The Plant Lady" is, and if she is acting alone or is the representative of a larger group. Meanwhile, the fate of the Plant is unknown.

billy would like to point out one last thing at this time. He finds the wording, of the note, very curious, especially the use of the word "replace". In the S.F. genre of cinematic history dealing with human/plant interaction, there have been a number of different stories, but none as powerful and disturbing as "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" (1956 version). Briefly humans were being replaced by Alien life forms that took the form of "Pods" or plants. Let your imagination run wild for a moment and suppose this was not a movie and in fact real life. Perhaps the invasion is going on right now and there is an unknown resistance group that is trying to reverse the threat, and instead of Humans being replaced by plants, they fight the battle and replace the "Plants", with something else. For a more direct take on actual Plant invasion, you may wish to view "The Day of the Triffids (1962)" in preparation of fighting against an invading "Plant" force. Just a thought.

Billy’s own special Haggis recipe. (WARNING not for everyone)

So billy found himself cooking over the weekend, and whipped up a batch, so here it is for everyone's pleasure:

Haggis

Ingredients

Sheep's pluck (Heart, liver and lungs)
A pound of beef suet
Four large onions
12 small onions peeled and scalded twice in boiling water
1 pint of oatmeal roasted in the oven at 150 ^OC for two hours
Black Pepper
Salt
Cayenne Pepper
One well-cleaned sheep stomach, soaked in salt water for several hours. The stomach is called the haggis bag.
A half pint of beef gravy

Cooking Method

1.Clean the pluck thoroughly.

2.Make incisions in the heart and liver to allow the blood to flow out.

3.Par-boil the whole pluck, letting the windpipe lie over the side of the pot to allow liquids such as the blood to leave the lungs.

4.After boiling for a few minutes, replace the water with fresh water.

5.Boil for an hour.

6.Remove the pluck and cut off half of the liver. Continue boiling this until it is hard enough to be grated easily.

7.Take the heart, the half liver and part of the lungs. Remove any skin or nasty bits.

8.Mince the above ingredients with the beef-suet and all the onions.

9.Grate the remaining half of the liver and add to the mince.

10.Spread the mince out on a chopping board and spread the oatmeal over the top of it, add black pepper, salt, and cayenne pepper to taste. Mix well.

11.Bring a large pot of water to a gentle boil.

12.Put the meat into the haggis bag and add the beef gravy and lemon juice, if desired). Only fill the bag to half to allow for swelling.

13.Squeeze out the air and sew the haggis bag closed.

14.Place the haggis into the gently boiling water.

15.When the haggis bag begins to swell, prick it all over with a large needle to prevent bursting.

16.Boil haggis for about three hours.

17.Serve, with neeps and tatties, and a shot of your best Scotch whiskey!

Some wonderful fans have sent in some pictures of their amazing effort to build a shrine like environment, honoring billy. This is so far out, that you have to see it to believe it. So here are the pictures. Congratulations G and D this is the most fantastic feat of Pod decorating billy has ever seen, although it is hard to find billy in all that decorating. billy welcomes fan pictures and will try to post any that are received.

Donations are up!

Some good Samaritan of the anonymous kind has seen fit to respond to the enormously upsetting theft of the ten cent donation, and contribute an equal amount, to make up for that unfortunate affair. The money in the form of two nickels and was found at the bdFC headquarters with a small note attached. Thank you very much, oh, wise and omnipotent being, whom sees fit to grace the Club with such generosity! P.s. Club security is, right now, deciding whether or not to send the note for handwriting analysis.
